Warhol was also of course pointing out the mass consumption of art -- thus he used this technique in other presentations as well. One ought to analyze the colors he uses. His other major 4x4 reproduction in rainbow colors was of Marilyn Monroe who he also presents as being all things to all men. Is anyone saying Warhol was mocking Monroe? No. He was saying that capitalism mass produces art. So the use of this style with a socialist leader is at once critical of socialism, asking it whether it will reproduce the capitalist system, pro-queer rights, and mocking of capitalism. IRTR just doesn't get it.

IRTR correctly points out remixing would be tactically superior to replaying. However remixing is also more technically difficult -- it takes much longer. Further, remixing must be keyed to get maximum hits. Thus the KMFDM-Nancy Sinatra remix was an example of good tactics: people searching for either artist will reach the work. That was also a good tactic because the song is country music in origins redone as techno. Techno and country were not used as tags. Your minister wanted to compare hits before and after adding style tags.

Making a video takes two days (minimum) to a week. Remixing a song entirely or several songs would take at least a month. Sound transitions are more complicated. So is it better to make 10 to 15 songs per month or 1 song every month or two? The math isn't difficult.

Gnarls Barklay on Google gets 60000 so far but has been there since 21 May 2006 in comparison Californication is on Google since 29 September. "Crazy" is visually brilliant and tracks the words of the song. So much for the "tracking sucks" theory. Also Californication is an older song -- Crazy just came out this year.

Most contemporary videos rely on two stupid techniques that IRTR with channel serfed eyes buys into: 1) Ultra-rapid visual sequences so that the audience is unaware of what they've just seen. Counting visitors

The videos average over 500 visits a day even on weekends. A certain nameless fraternal organization should retag its videos to get more visitors. Exact statistics are available. The number of visitors is not declining, it is increasing.

Our mid range objective is interactive / collaborative / generative art forms.

Our long range goal is to make movies, not just videos.

The type of breakthrough needed is not technical: The Art Ministry has the tools needed to make anything 2 dimensional. A mental breakthrough is still absent. As soon as that changes the interactive art will flow. Videos, even if they seem a breakthrough, are not in comparison.

A comrade wrote a really good review with the sort of S.C. that a certain fraternal organization demands of the Art Minister. That reviewer asks whether there is an "inherent" male/female bio/social polarity. We are materialists. We know that culture shapes us and that patriarchy tries to con us all the time. There are of course material biological facts about reproduction at least before test tube babies. But if we say there is a male essence, sharp, defined and finite, and a female essence, diffused and all encompassing why not just go one step further and say all men are inherently rapists -- after all, sex is rape in imperialism. The problem with the essentialism view is it denies the ability of changes in material forces of production to alter social relations. The reviewer accurately identified the bourgeois - feudal - agrarian - primitive communism view on biology and essence. But even with the bourgeoisie we already see this bio linkage breaking down.

But just as the reviewer could be conned by the patriarchy so could the art minister. Maybe it is all 100% biological and we are entirely deluded about our ability to alter the human species by changing forces and relations of production. In that case we should simply walk over to catholicism - or the fascists.

Can the essentialist view play itself out within communism in artistic production? That is the open challenge to the reviewer who listens "over and over" to some music that is technically good.
