But that's bullshit and I'll tell you why it's totally wrong.

46,101 hits. 1143 for the day. 1693 downloads. 39 downloads today. Plus 844 hits for the removed IRTR video. :P
IRTR finally critiques the videos: Hey, IRTR you don't like the stuff make your own.
IRTR correctly points out remixing would be tactically superior to replaying. However remixing is also more technically difficult -- it takes much longer. Further, remixing must be keyed to get maximum hits. Thus the KMFDM-Nancy Sinatra remix was an example of good tactics: people searching for either artist will reach the work. That was also a good tactic because the song is country music in origins redone as techno. Techno and country were not used as tags. Your minister wanted to compare hits before and after adding style tags.
Making a video takes two days (minimum) to a week. Remixing a song entirely or several songs would take at least a month. Sound transitions are more complicated. So is it better to make 10 to 15 songs per month or 1 song every month or two? The math isn't difficult.
IRTR cites the Gnarls Barkley video as a measure. Except, IRTR wrongly calls it a fan video with 4 stars on youtube. As of this viewing 2.5 stars. IRTR, that ain't a fan video. It's professional:

U just got pwn3d IRTR. You are comparing an amateur to professionals. Oops. Thanks for comparing. With luck that comparison will continue! Your Minister is always open to new tools. And to song suggestions. You don't like the Art? Make your own or make suggestions.
Californication, as yet unreviewed, has 9000 hits on google. It's been there one season and is better than the video by the RHCP. Gnarls Barklay on Google gets 60000 so far but has been there since 21 May 2006 in comparison Californication is on Google since 29 September. "Crazy" is visually brilliant and tracks the words of the song. So much for the "tracking sucks" theory. Also Californication is an older song -- Crazy just came out this year.
Most contemporary videos rely on two stupid techniques that IRTR with channel serfed eyes buys into: 1) Ultra-rapid visual sequences so that the audience is unaware of what they've just seen. MIM explicitly criticizes channel flipping and that visual technique is a reflection of the channel flipping culture. It is deliberately eschewed. Channel serfed IRTR probably expects that. Nope. Not happening. We want people who can focus and concentrate -- not a bunch of blinded fools.
Another contemporary enemy technique is to make a dissociation between word and image. Why not just say you're post modernists and dualists IRTR? Your Minister pointedly rejects dissociation of word and image as another technical outcome of channel flipping. Indeed, Your Minister's work reflects the words in the song. Amazing! Coherence rather than post modernist double talk! IRTR: give it up.
IRTR proved so inept at decomposing Peaches that Your Minister feels freed thereby from more in depth responses. Such responses slow art production reducing hits. Your Minister ONLY responds due to his responsability to be accountable to the MIM. Your Minister would rather make art and is more effective at making art than engaging in theoretical debates and has even been told exactly that by the MIM. So, IRTR expect only minimum written responses if any: Though, any valid criticisms will get reflected in art production.
"He" is an experimental black and white video. The lyrics of the song are awesome. And Lenin as a Genius Scientist is a great image. Yep, Metropolis was reactionary christianity. Xtan bullshit also infects Stone Roses. No complaints about that there though. In fact xtianity is all over the place in western culture. It's hard to avoid.
The question is detournement, how to do that best. Your Minister decided that making more videos was better than reworking old ones. Your Minister has at least 5 videos to work on. Reworking old videos is the lowest priority. Criticisms will be considered and may influence future videos.
Snap's lyrics on their own are bourgeois egoism. The song itself has absolutely no revolutionary message, unlike "He" which is anti-patriarchy, anti colonialism, and exposes the genocide of First Nations. The lyrics of that song are strong enough to carry any visual suppport. And the visual supports are intended to provoke and attract attention. Completely unrevolutionary, but highly emotive, Snap was musically very well done and was worth working with the music, not the message. IRTR did not notice the fact that those lyrics are just egoism and not at all on their own revolutionary.
The bin laden video got 423 hits yesterday. Your Minister still cannot believe that. It usually is around 180 (sometimes 200 sometimes 140). Your Minister knows this version is better than the other videos out there. Someone else must have agreed. Well IRTR disagrees. Too bad for IRTR. Lose Emo, Lose. Ditto the Californication video which also is better than the one made for RHCP by some expensive ass animation company. Flea, u r still teh pwn3d. When RHCP finally notices this the MIM wants to make their next hit video.
Enough, for now: in the end Your Minister is responsible to the MIM. Thank you IRTR for getting off your high horse and into the dirt. Keep that up. But: Your Minister still sees no definition of "Maoist Art" at IRTR. The Art Ministry has supplied one. Until you refute that or the CC says otherwise that's what is. Maoist Art is art made by Maoists.
Excuse me, though Your Minister's eyes are dried out from watching a computer screen constantly she must make art. Your Minister has also made a toolbar for firefox. That has not yet been released because of the Art Ministry needs to communicate with the security Ministry about whether such a thing would be at all appropriate. Likewise we need to get the Seize the Time podcasts back up. And Your Minister has been criticized for not recruiting and so shall ask to restart the yahoo Maoist groups she set up a few years ago. When MIM is ready Your Minister needs the keys for the Yahoo groups.
