I'm going to upload the raw footage to google as well in case anyone wants to download it.

I use super and vlc to convert files from formats (both work well). I use camstudio for screen captures. And I use moviemaker and quicktime for composition. I also use microsoft gif animator to animate gifs. And i use audacity for audio editing. I used to use coffee cup firestarter to make swfs but to my continued amazement google and youtube don't accept swf.
