You are right to say Russia is still imperialist. Okay, fight Russian imperialism first. But MIM is right the global contradiction is U.S. imperialism versus the Third World. Russia is just a junior partner and no longer competing to be number one imperialist.

MIM says: Concentrate on the Main enemy. It's like we are in World War II and you want to fight japan first when germany is stronger. It's better to concentrate our forces on the main enemy, not secondary enemies.

MIM is also willing to set imperialists against each other. So what you interpret as MIM suddenly supporting Russia may simply be MIM splitting the imperialists and trying to guide the imperialists out of imperialism.
