The imperialists answer to the last lost counterinsurgency was to clamp down on news (embedded reporters, censorship) and to insist only on fighting wars with popular approval. Well, guess what, the war in Iraq has no public approval. Moreover, those tricks of censorship didn't do anything to lessen your death-and-might-as-well-be-dead rates. The peace corps is already exposed throughout the world as a CIA front anyway. You might as well use them, or simply soldiers out of uniform for aid work. The particulars of uniformed and uninformed aid work are the call of the people on the ground - the military, mostly, but also the ngos.
