Lessons from the Enemy's Playbook-Ward Churchill

When Hitler seized power he gamed it out years, even decades in advance. The Nazis planned in great detail their entire game and considered all possibilities, all scenarios. We lose the war? No problem, south america. We get nukes first? Cool, declare war on the U.S.A. We get a minority in the Reichstag? Okay, marginalize the left, ally with the center, then stab the center in the back. "He pulls a knife? You pull a gun. He put's one of yours in the hospital? You put one of his in the morgue." That's what a succesful power struggle looks like.

The nazis in the 1920s and 1930s had gamed out, literally, all the alternative sequences by 1930 at the latest, in some cases as early as 1923. There was no losing outcome, just worst and best case scenarios. That's what a vanguard party exercising democratic centralism can do, it can exercise discipline and lead to unite a determined minority of dissidents to seize state power.

In 1933, when the fascists seized state power they had no army, none to speak of.

How did the fascists move from being out of state power, literally in prison to state power in just 10 years?

Through power struggles.

People look at the struggle over Ward Churchill; Effete academic individuals, the sort of people who have never had a power struggle in their lives, who are even offended or disgusted by the idea of fighting tooth and nail over a scrap of bloody meat because they are starving -- they never starved. That's why they are so effete that the nazis spit on them and get away with it.

They looked at each and every battle as a step in the right direction, as training for Der Tag -- the day -- the day when they would seize state power, rearm, and launch a world war.

Maoists should steal a play from the enemy's book on this one. Ward Churchill isn't about Ward Churchill. Ward Churchill is about The Next Battle.

MIM will be fighting a series of battles to seize power over the next decade or two. Each bttle we fight will be to prepare for the *Next* Battle. Winining here and now on the ground with Ward Churchill will train us to win the next battle which will be harder for higher stakes, a battle we could not win today with our limited resources and experiences. Don't get discouraged - look at those laughable democrats with their near limitless resources, their training heuristic is fucked, they learn no lessons. Hell, they don't even know there are lessons to learn let alone how to learn them. Ward Churchill is to teach us -- and our enemies -- lessons.

Is the next battle going to be the war over Iran? Probably. MIM has a few past battles under her belt already, Sison, for example Nepal, Gatekeeper. Each of the struggles MIM undertakes should be seen as step toward seizing state power.

This year the state tried to smash MIM. The state failed. If Maoism were never going to happen in the U.S. it would have died between 2005-2007. So now it is a question of rationally organizing the remaining power struggles to seize state power as quickly as possible. What part of "revolution is a reality" didn't you get?

Hitler's plan for world domination grew out of a repeated series of power struggles. In 1921 there was no way anyone would imagine a bunch of racist hooligans with kooky prescientific mythology as their guiding star would seize state power in the most scientifically advanced imperialist country. Those bastards seized power by looking at each power struggle as vital and as a step toward the ultimate goal. So should we.

1) Conquer Czechoslovakia to seize weapons, especially tanks.
2) Conquer France to seize aircraft, ships and factories.
3) Conquer Russia to seize grain and oil.
4) Defeat U.S. in global war.

Before you bother telling me part 4 failed ask yourself about George Bushes grandfather Prescott, whose side Prescott was on, then ask yourself about A.H.-nuld, admittted nazi sympathizer with a nazi family.

Moreover, even if part 4 failed the way we are told the enemy there did not just roll over and play dead, give up and walk off the field. They dispersed their resources, went underground and struggled for a full four decades to the point where their grandchildren succeeded at seizing state power. This is what a multigenerational power struggle looks like.

The proletariat get their ass kicked in battle after battle yet continue struggling because they have no choice. That is the nature of bourgeois power, it needs a proletariat to exploit, it cannot have it's cushy lifestyle without the sweatshops and slaves in the Third World.

And all those oh-so-nicey-nice first world antifascist liberals? Parasites, dependant on that sweatshop migrant labor. Liberals should get a spine and ditch the democrats who "accidentally" lead them from losing battle to losing battle. The democrats have consistently lost battle after battle since Carter. That's no accident. After a few power struggles our liberals will ditch their stupid liberalism that leads nowhere and learn to fight dirty with a will to power.

The Art Ministry's Perspective on MIM's Shift

Authoritarianism, cryptic communication, metaphoric struggle and the battle to gain both the lumpen and intellectuals have recently become key aspects of MIM thought. This is the sort of quantum state change that arises dialectically, a sudden rapid qualitative transformation resulting from a long series of gradual quantitative changes. These new ways of fighting are frankly exciting. People who thought "MIM be dead" were simply very wrong.

Why did I say (me say? this author say?) "People who thought "MIM BE dead" were simply very wrong."? That is an example of using the subjunctive + ghetto talk simultaneously to reach both the intellectuals and the lumpen (ghetto defendants). It's a two-for-one and the sort of thing MIM is expecting all comrades to "get" and do.

Do I study neocon rhetoric? Of course. Does it help the struggle to ask fake questions? Only if it's cryptic.

To understand the struggle to hit the intellos and reach out to and lift up the lumpen we need to ask ourselves what is intellect? We communists know correct ideas do not fall from the sky, they are not innate, genetic or inborn. Correct ideas result from practical struggle with incorrect ideas. That is one reason the communist side will eventually and inevitably win: our enemies are blocked by their genetic elitism from developing all their potential resources. We can and should aim to get the lumpen "up to speed" it is why Mao taught literacy. All people are about equally intelligent, one more reason we're a bunch of fucking commies.

What is intellect? One aspect is the ability to encode and decode messages. Another aspect is creativity. What is creativity? Creativity is the promiscuous recombination of existing ideas to invent new ones. Intellectuals, that word I use, promiscuous, is not just metaphoric it is also literal as any lumpen so-called idiot will see. Artists want to stick their brushes in paint buckets and then smear paint on just about anything and yes that is a metaphor for fucking. Art is creative, the result of a promiscuous assault on the senses. Is this an indirect criticism of certain persyns? Duh.

But part of intellect is structure and discipline the ability to present a coherent message. Mere creativity, unfocussed undisciplined is anarchism or liberalism. It is a step forward from authoritarian feudalism. But it is not sufficient to get us out of blood soaked capitalism. We can expect lumpen to be creative and unfocussed. We can expect intellos to be focussed but uncreative. We need both aspects. I own you artistically because I know how to hit both levels at once and because I am more promiscuous. My critic's art is focussed but uncreative and generally hits only the intellectuals. Hitler said outright: >>ditch the intellectuals it's all practice baby<< and he was right about practice, possibly about the intellos. If lumpen or intellos should get priveleged I would privelege the lumpen struggle, not the struggle for intellos. We have plent of fascist intellos. I just dont see a lumpen protofascist movement, unlike in the labor aristocracy. Lumpen resgination to fate and indifference to consequences immunizes the lumpen against greed and fascism. Also lumpen are better at solidarity than labor aristocrats or l.a. wannabes.

How do authoritarianism/authoritarian "thinking" and creativity relate?

MIM recently has become authoritarian in some senses. MIM is making clear that some security struggles are going to be in the dark and others are going to be in the day and others will be in that shadow world of paranoia, metaphor, image-i-nation. This is why IRTR missed the boat and is playing sink-or-swim. They did not see the shift in tactics, the reason for that shift. Mao tells us plainly: we must take the enemy tactically dead serious. Those fuckers have guns and are trigger happy as we can plainly see. But we must also have strategic confidence in the proletariat because the exploited are the world's majority. We must likewise have contempt for the enemy strategically. The capitalists and imperialists, the war mongers, they are the real "dead enders". Rumsfeld was a dead ender. Jester Cheney is a dead ender. They represent a dying class, a dying world, and a world we are all too happy to help to die.

What is authoritarian reasoning?

Authoritarian reasoning is to look at intellect not as a function of disciplined coherent direction of creative promiscuity directed toward encoding and decoding messages. Rather it is to see being right as a function of one's social status in the society. For example, this minister had enormous strategic confidence in MIM when the hidden struggles of the past "X" years -- which struggles she did not see, not at all! -- finally broke lose on the surface. This minister played "follow the leader" the game of authoritarians everywhere. Where did that confidence come from? Why was it not misplaced? We certainly did not see such confidence among certain (all?) elements of IRTR!

This confidence arose from PRACTICE. Your Minister had been in constant struggle to understand MIM since years and Germoney since a decade (or more). She only recognized the warning signals of the past years, the reasons for MIMs actions, *after* the struggles became evident. Though This Minuister can "read between the lines" before the cryptic struggles became evident YM did not read MIM that way. MIM has not only said rtfm it also says "from now on WRITE between the lines". At which point YM knew -- read between the lines! Connect the dots! Put the ball in the hoop! This really liberated me from the need for direction, confirmation, reassurance that my line was more correct than Stalin's -- and it is. I can claim to be more correct than stalin because MIM thought is built on Mao who built on Stalin. I would have to deviate seriously from MIM line to be less correct than Stalin, and I don't pfft. So it isn't bragging or unrealistic to say YM is more correct than Stalin. It is also not an indirect critique of Stalin. MIM probably underestimates Stalin because of being blind to the cryptic struggles that happened in the 1930s. MIM knows that Stalin was 100% right to send all those fuckers to the gulag, especially after the recent rioting in Tallinn which revealed the ugly sad truth of post-revisionist neo-fascism in Eastern Europe. MIM does not read or write about Stalin enough for my liking. This is because Stalin has been succesfully smeared by the enemy, just like they are trying to paint a shit mustache on Mao today. Combatting the smearing of Stalin and Mao is a key task of the art ministry. Since we don't aim to get the majority in the imperialist lands we should be all the more willing to cheer Stalin. Indeed, Stalin is my homeboy!

Were the nameless renegades, the degenerates, the sectarian defectors, reading between the lines? Know idea. Good question. I doubt it. They underestimated MIM because of a lack of practice working with MIM. MIM was NOT engaging in authoritarian reasoning when it said something along the lines of "Mousnonya has been pumping out Maoism for years, don't have a cow". MIM was engaging in using practice as the guide to correct ideas, and people who missed that boat were using some other standard, probably an idealist one.

Allegories and Metaphors:
MIM is going to be writing between the lines, IMO till socialism, at least. I think allegorical writing under the JDOP may not be the way to go because it risks covering for capitalist restoration. That may be an example of how an idea dialectically transforms into its opposite under certain conditions. The correct idea of using allegorical/metaphorical struggle under capitalism maybe becomes the incorrect idea under socialism -- this is the sort of theoretical struggle where the cartesian intellectual renegades could make points now for battles 20-50 years in the future. Will they? I don't know.

Opponent Modeling
Yes, that is a keyword from artificial intelligence, feds MIM is not joking about Markov, im in ur packets cracking ur cipher, sniff sniff. MIM has also made clear that we must be able to see the world through the enemies' eyes. Hey, what happens when 2 or 3 universities computer labs start paralell processing ur cipher? Heheh.
MIM has been tolerant of this minister because I sure as hell can see through the enemy's eyes, at least some of them. MIM has been modelling the two main wings of imperialism recently, Hooverites vs. Rockefellers, though less developed models of liberals & libertarians also exist.

Werewolves & lone wolves
After the Nazis were defeated they tried to start guerilla armies. The ones in Eastern Europe got funded by the CIA and were troublemaking well into the 1950s, i.e. until the revisionist traitor Khruschev came to power. Allegory and Lumpen

MIM said recently it has a problem with communication of people blabbing and sending TMI. MIM it is possible to use a PHP script to put an email box on a web page to which nothing could be attached, said emails would be text-only. Just saying.

Specifically, MSH/SHU have a solid practice of putting out the Maoist despite being marred as by idealism and various forms of opportunism.

Basically, as Art Minister I am meant to produce, criticize, and steer art. MSH/SHU criticizes my steerage because of sex and very fine points about history re the BPP and GPCR. Happily, they are doing what I said: If you don't like the art make your own. I just wish their art was getting more views, which it would, if they abandoned their idealism.

I think that I can say that the fine line points of criticism might be correct. I know not. As MIM told me months ago I am _art Minister, NOT theory minister. I am actually glad to get line directions like "please no more GPCR art".

This raises the question of how front line cultural workers are to best function in the movement. MIM has made clear that the party will give lots of leeway to the frontline producers of art -- let 100 flowers bloom! MIM however also wants oversight from experienced comrades with correct line. Those comrades will be held to account.

Okay, so this brings back to MSH/SHU. They hate my art. :( They make their own. :D They have the right to speak based on their artistic production. But: Instead of saying "Make that art" or "Do this!" -- instead of issuing concrete line oriented art paramaters, they simply whine in the idealistic fashion.

Of course, the Art Ministry is thoroughly pornified -- that is the natural consequence of being in the pornified first world. It is inevitable especially given the method of taking the old evil culture and picking it apart remixing and re-presenting it. MIM's line on remixing the old culture is correct.

MSH/SHU don't like porn much (unlike the entire youth generation of amerika). Who likes rape? People who haven't been raped. Rape is a Very common fantasy. Hm.

MSH/SHU has this idealistic puritan line that looks oh so pure and good but that idealism makes them practically ineffective (few viewers) and means they ignore the concrete questions I have raised namely:
What is the eroticization of power?
Can we use the to eroticization of power to oppose the eroticization of power?
What is Maoist art?
How should Maoists work together to produce art?
No answer on these questions means no right to bitch me out.

In defence of MSH/SHU:
MIM -- and this Ministry -- have made clear ALL comrades should be capable of working independantly, of producing the hard line not watered down. And that is basically the best of MSH/SHUs critiques, that my line is too down.

In My defence:
I have *constantly* hammered home the labor aristocracy thesis and the anti war message.
MIM has never said "dont take up the metaphoric struggle in art". Just the opposite. But because of our little pig murder I am setting that aside, for now. Too much visualisation leads to much realization. Images are powerful. Brains are like electromagnets.

Mature comrades are expected to be able to work independantly to not need their hands held. MSH/SHU should not need to be told basic things like retagging their videos, listing them in wikipedia, doing the concrete things that would increase their audience.

What I would *like* to see evolve out of this struggle is:
Lots of other people following MSH/SHUs lead and making their own web pages, their own videos, their own art!
The development of some sort of framework for reviewing art production.
I have watched all SHU videos and they are good even though the only audience are hardcore Maoists. All the still art I am seeing at MSH (and RAIM and MMG) is also good. Okay, so the only persyn who's art is considered "questionable" is mine. Well, lots and lots of people are looking at that art, deal with it. Take up the concrete struggle either by making your own damned art or telling me what art to make or not to make. Or propose some framework for artistic review.

Basically, until we get good definitions of "Maoist art" and a thorough understanding of the problem of eroticization of power the transformation that I guess MSH/SHU would like to see in this Ministry's art production probably won't happen. The correct line is forged in struggle with the incorrect line.

So even though the Pixies have a great song, "This Monkey's Gone to Heaven" which would be a perfect one to illustrate idealism and push/criticize MSHs blog I'm not yet making it. This is partly because MSH requested that this Minister refrain from making art about the GPCR. I am not sectarian, unlike MSH/SHU. So MSH has a chance to grab that song and make their own video while I step back and just listen. That video would increase MSH traffic but I am going to see if MSH makes it on their own or not. If they don't I will. I may well include a link to MSH though MIM can always tell me what to do or not to do. Indeed Your Minister is most gracious.
